Title:           TRAINER MAINTENANCE AND PMEL FOR SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE
Description:
   SOL: F41689-02-R-0090
   This acquisition is for non-personal services to provide all personnel,
   equipment, tools, materials, supervision, licenses, certification, and
other
   items necessary to perform trainer maintenance services at Sheppard AFB.
   The trainer maintenance services for Sheppard AFB, TX include Aerospace
   Ground Equipment (AGE), historical/static displays, and Test and
Measurement
   Diagnostic Equipment (TDME).  Also included is management of the
munitions
   storage area (MSA), Core Automated Maintenance System (CAMS), Air Force
   Repair Enhancement (AFREP) and Circuit Card Repair (CCR) to ensure the
best,
   most efficient, safe, reliable, and effective resources are made
available
   to Sheppard AFB.  Trainer maintenance services also consist of
maintenance
   on equipment for the Aircraft Structural Maintenance, General Advanced
   Composite Repair, Nondestructive Inspection (NDI) courses at Naval Air
   Station (NAS) Pensacola, FL, and Helicopter Crew Chief courses at Fort
   Eustis, VA.  This function also maintains and manages the Precision
   Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL), which supports about 6,400 items
   annually.  Currently there are 5,146 training devices, including 83 GITA,

   munitions supply accounts, and 14 static/historical display aircraft.
The
   performance period will be one Basic Year with six pre-priced One-Year
   Options, for a total of seven years.  The Basic Year will be from 01 Oct
03
   through 30 Sep 04, will each option year following in succession.  The
   contract type will be Firm-Fixed Price utilizing Full and Open
Competition
   procedures.  The Government intends to issue the formal solicitation on
or
   about 07 Oct 02 with a Pre-Proposal Conference/Site Visit on or about 07
Nov
   02.  The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps
   (http://www.fedbizopps.gov) electronically.  A Draft Request For Proposal
   will be available on FedBizOpps on or about 09 Sep 02.  If you have any
