Hello All,
A followup to last week's news item concerning GE's proposed acquisition
of InVision...Reuters is reporting that the Securities And Exchange
Commission is investigating the purchase of call options before the
announced GE acquisition (a call option allows the purchaser to buy a
stock when it reaches a certain price). The investigation was launched
after traders noticed an unusual increase in the options activity.
Spokespersons for InVision say that the company is cooperating fully
with the SEC and that the company doesn't expect the probe to affect the
proposed takeover.
Reuters is also reporting that the trade volume in InVision (Nasdaq:
INVN) shares was up on speculation that a counter-bid may be in the
works for InVision, possibly from Germany's Siemens AG. Siemens
representatives declined to comment.
Regards,
Chris
