Hello All,

InVision Technologies (Nasdaq:INVN) released a statement yesterday announcing
that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has asked for additional information and
documentation in connection with InVision's acquisition by GE.

In the press release InVision states that the inquiry is "related only to the
non-destructive testing segment of InVision's business." You may recall that
InVision had recently acquired YXLON, a major player in digital radiography.
Similarly, GE had recently acquired AGFA's NDT group; the thrust of the FTC's
inquiry is leading some to suggest that perhaps the FTC is concerned about the
consolidation of NDE radiography, although no details of the request for
information have been released. GE had to resolve a similar issue in January
this year following its NDE acquisitions when it sold its Panametrics
ultrasonics unit to R/D Tech.

The request for information extends the waiting period of the acquisition, during
which the FTC is allowed to review the transaction. InVision is estimating the
acquisition to complete in the latter half of the year.

Regards,
Chris
