Hello All,

I originally sent this RFI yesterday, but for some reason it didn't seem
to make the email list. Apologies if you've seen it already or if it
comes in later.

NTIAC has a technical inquiry in concerning the inspection and
certification of very heavy walled steel pressure vessels.

Our inquirer is interested in finding out what NDE techniques are
commonly used to certify (ASME/API, etc.) pressure vessels with very
thick walls (in this particular case, a foot or more), and in particular
in the assessment of the circumferential welds. The inquirer would also
like to know who else uses such pressure vessels (points of contact if
possible), and how the data from a weld inspection are interpreted
(e.g., how does the inspector know the difference between slag,
porosity, and lack of fusion).

Any and all info is appreciated!

Regards,
Chris
