Hello All,

The December 2004 edition of the newsletter is available online from the
usual place at http://www.ntiac.com/newslist.html , or
http://www.ntiac.com/news/1204news.pdf if you prefer a direct link to
the PDF. The PDF's a little on the large side due to the picture
content; if you have any problems retrieving it let me know.

In this edition...

- Nondestructive Inspection Technicians Ensure Aviation Safety
- Space Shuttle Return To Flight Update
- NASA Adjusts Shuttle Launch Window to May 2005
- Recent Government NDE Patents
- NTIAC Products Price List

In NDE industry news, the Dow Jones Newswire is reporting that GE
completed the acquisition of InVision Technologies before the markets
opened this morning and after InVision signed a deal with the U.S.
Justice Department in which the company pays a fine of U.S. $800,000 in
exchange for no prosecution under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. In
August NTIAC reported
(http://lists.ntiac.com/pipermail/ntiacnews/2004/000081.html )that
InVision had begun an internal probe after allegations emerged that some
of its distributors had made improper payments in foreign countries.

Finally, if you're at all interested in NASA's Request For Proposals on
NDE of foam don't forget that submissions are due a little over a week
from today. You can read the original announcement at
http://lists.ntiac.com/pipermail/ntiacnews/2004/000090.html and download
a PDF of the RFP at http://www.ntiac.com/news/NASA NESC ET RFI.pdf (note
the spaces in the PDF's file name).

As always if you have any questions/comments/suggestions feel free to
drop any of us a line. All our best for the season, and thank you for
supporting NTIAC!

Regards,
Chris
