SENIOR NDE SCIENTIST/ENGINEER
Texas Research Institute Austin, Inc. (TRI/Austin) has an immediate
opening for a senior Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) Scientist/Engineer.
Responsibilities include program development, revenue generation,
project and personnel management, proposal writing, and direct project
work addressing a broad array of NDE problems for US Federal Agency
customers. Prospective candidates should have an extensive background
in NDE and familiarity with a wide variety of different NDE techniques
and their applications. Candidates should have a broad knowledge of
various NDE activities in the United States and a substantial number of
personal contacts in the field. At least ten years of experience in NDE
is required, along with an advanced degree in physics, materials
science, mechanical engineering, or aerospace engineering. Industrial,
federal agency, or military experience is a plus. The successful
candidate will be expected to assist TRI/Austin in developing and
implementing NDE technologies for commercial and government
applications. Responsibilities will include Associate Director of the
Nondestructive Testing Information Analysis Center (NTIAC), operated for
the US Department of Defense by TRI/Austin. In this task, the candidate
will help expand use of NTIAC’s broad technical capability to provide
scientific and technical information analysis in support of NDE research
and development. The candidate must have good communication skills, be a
self-starter and enjoy working in a team environment. US Citizenship and
ability to obtain a US government security clearance are mandatory.
