Responsible for directing the development and implementation of a robust
and effective Quality System for a multi-business unit segment of the
corporation. Maintains a Technical Services staff of experts in the
fields of welding engineering, metallurgy, metals testing, and Quality
Assurance. Initiates investigations and corrective actions to ensure
products satisfy customers' expectations and regulatory requirements.
Provides audits for compliance with quality requirements. Works with
executives, business unit leaders and other personnel to provide
technical support and ensure that efficient and adequate quality systems
and processes are in place.   TYPICAL DUTIES: The following statements
are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being
performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all
responsibilities Has general management oversight of client's
laboratory. Provides leadership for the company's vision for quality and
customer service. Participates in the development of the company's
Quality Policy and quality objectives and directs, implements and
monitors multiple-facility quality standards, practices and performance.
Develops appropriate measurements of quality and reports on Quality
performance to senior management. Has the authority to act independently
of operations to ensure quality policy and procedures are followed. Is
the final decision authority for issues related to compliance with
quality policy and standards. This position is the central source for
specification review when planning any new or special product or project
with critical specifications where noncompliance or failure could cause
high risk and/or cost.=20=20

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor's degree in a technical field. Must have
5-10 years experience.   QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:  Considerable
knowledge of manufacturing processes and practices as applicable to the
company's products. Expert knowledge of welding and NDE (non-destructive
examination) and the qualification of personnel and processes. Good
knowledge of coatings and galvanizing. Good knowledge of measuring
methods, devices and tools and the ability to understand and apply
statistical methods to evaluate results. Requires the ability to lead
and function on a team; to work effectively with customers and Company
personnel. Must have excellent communication skills, both written and
verbal. Experience in quality management, production management,
industrial technology or related areas. Considerable experience in
working with top management and senior levels of customer's
organizations. Prior experience with product inspection duties combined
with management experience; or any combination of experience and
training which results in the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Certified by the American Welding Society as a Certified Welding
Inspector (CWI) is a plus and satisfies the "Expert Knowledge" of
welding and NDE knowledge requirement.   Must have basic (or advanced)
computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Outlook and good
communication skills, both oral, written. Ability to multi-task in a
fast-paced work environment necessary to be successful.   Ability to
work in a team environment across all levels of the organization is
essential.   Ability to manage subordinates, projects and workflow
effectively is a must.   The ideal candidate must have exceptional
organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Individual will have access to confidential/sensitive information; must
maintain professionalism at all times.   You must pay attention to
detail and demonstrate ability to remain flexible to meet the
department's ever-changing requirements.
